Review: Amaya

The recently opened Amaya Indian Grill and Kitchen is located on
the ground floor of Phoenix MarketCity, Kurla and is a part of Bellona hospitality.

As we entered Amaya we were dazzled by the beautiful ambience of the place. We were served a glass of Chaas to beat the heat which had a dash of ginger, coriander, green chillies and freshly roasted cumin in the adequate proportion, absolutely refreshing.


This was followed by in numerous rounds of starters. The Bharwan Aloo which was marinated Kashmiri style, a dish we enjoyed! The Kaju Methi Roll was appealing to the eye but it just had too many Cashews which overpowered the taste of Methi. The Lamb Galifa Seekh Kebab and the Kalmi Kebab were melt-in-the-mouth delicious.

The Lehsooni Jheenga was disappointing as the prawns were not clean and we could not eat it. We’d definitely give it a miss on our next visit.

In the main course, try the Bhatti ka Murgh Masala, the Kadhai Paneer in creamy tomato gravy and the Padhai Lehsooni Palakalongwith their signature, Kache murgh ki bhuni bhiryani.

A lunch cannot be complete without dessert. We tried the Baked Gulab Jamun with rabdi gaze, Rasmalai and Kolkata’s Meetha Paan ice cream. The Ice Cream stole the show and we definitely saved the best for the last.

Overall, Amaya is a great option for North Indian cuisine lovers as it serves some delicious options. We are definitely coming back here.
